"It's not a party if you don't do something that scares you!"

The Gay Energy Company is the brainchild of Travis McHenry, a Pennsylvania native and fanatical fan of The Office.

After embracing a sober lifestyle in 2024, Travis switched to energy drinks while hanging out in bars and clubs with friends. The deliberately outlandish idea of a gay energy drink came from the Season 9 episodes "Lotto" and "Free Family Portrait Studio" when characters Hidetoshi and Glenn invest in an energy drink which caters to Asian homosexuals. Travis wondered if it could be possible to actually create the featured flavor, coconut penis, as a real-life drink.

With the help of a commercial kitchen to blend and bottle this unusual creation, Travis created a sugar free energy drink that actually tastes like coconut penis! But... The coconut is pretty subtle.

Then professional artist Aubrey Scavone created a new label with English writing in an Asian font that conformed to FDA guidelines to be sold in bars, clubs, restaurants, and stores as both a collectable prop and a real energy drink you can enjoy anywhere you go, including: flower shops, fireworks celebrations, moonlit gondolas, a carriage drive through Central Park, the woods behind the liquor store, the swamp behind the old folks' home, an electric car dealership, or the Democratic primaries.

In August 2025, at The Office Reunion fan convention, Travis had a chance to share the first batch of Coconut Penis™ flavored Gay Energy™ with actor Hidetoshi Imura, who was so impressed that he asked for a can to take home. To quote Hidetoshi: "The best!"

The reaction from Hidetoshi and other fans of The Office convinced Travis he was on the right track and he decided to invest in a full production run and make Gay Energy™ available in two flavors: Coconut Penis™ and Original Penis.

And so, the Gay Energy Company was born.

It's mission statement: "Make America GAY Again."

How It All Started

Step One: Be gay.

Step Two: Like energy drinks.

Step Three: Watch all nine seasons of The Office 20 times.

Step Four: Do all three at the same time. That's what he said.
